Alex Amini - Director

Amini studied Architecture at Cooper Union and Pratt institute in New York.  Graduating 1993 he worked briefly for Costantini architecture in  Paris, Perrault architecture in Berlin and Raimund Abraham in New York. Born in Germany to an Italian mother and Iranian father, he speaks multiple languages and fluently in Persian, English, Italian and German. He abandoned architecture to become an artist but always influenced by architecture in particular his professor Raimond Abraham. As an artist he has been influenced by artists ranging from Joseph Beuys to Ad Reinhardt. His objects, sketches and paintings explore the process in the periphery of architectural production with lines and surfaces, additive and subtractive layers, liquid form and spaces, markings and doodles.
