This exciting film, music and website project explores, celebrates and inspires "open-ness" as it relates to cross-cultural creative expression and collaboration.

The Open Project believes that music, art and other forms of cultural expression represent the common thread between all peoples of the world.

We believe that within the sharing of these forms of expression, and in particular within the experience of collaborative co-creation, the common thread can be found... the common thread that weaves us together as one.

The Open Project features powerful musical and artistic performances, in-depth interviews and insightful stories, bringing together a diverse and colourful group of international artists... all captured on the road with our "Open Organic Travels Open Road" portable film and audio recording studio.

Already we've been to New Zealand (Aotearoa), Japan, Bali and currently in Australia. And we're just getting started!

The finished film and soundtrack (to be released separately as a CD) is an exciting unfolding mystery, taking shape as we continue our travels.... All part of the "open organic" process which is central to the whole "open" message.

What is the "open organic process"?

The open organic process involves co-collaboration between our ever-growing range of open co-creators in areas such as:

- auditioning/exploring - musically and visually
- the sharing of inspiration
- live performance, live jams
- collaboration in the song writing process itself
- DJ-ing
- beat-making
- remixing

and in general "organically mashing-it-up" between all open co-creators ...

... all countries, all cultures....

.... each to their own capacity and individual inspiration.

An example:

An open co-creator might come up with a lead vocal and this (along with video footage if possible) is openly offered to another open co-creator, who could be anywhere in the world at that time, as long as they can plug into our online community (coming soon)... This is where it gets exciting and the open organic process takes effect... the new artist "drops in" with their own interpretation, perhaps percussion, perhaps guitar...who knows? And the results are up-loaded to the website to share with th open co-creator community... of course it doesn't always "gel" (connect musically) but when it does, that's the magic moment, and that's the magic message...

What's the Story. It's a film , so it needs to have a story right?!

The music, interviews and other creative performances ARE the story.

The final storyline is the finished "global organic mashup" of all elements, including whole songs and film-clips crafted together by various performers from around the world. Check out our list of feature co-creators here. It's growing all the time...
